 COVID-19 Email | March 13, 2020

Christ the King Family,

As you all know, we face a rapidly changing situation in regard to COVID-19 and the health risks associated with it. In the midst of it, I want to share a few things:

1) We will not operate in fear. While there is uncertainty in our world, we know God is in control and our hope is in Him. Now is the time for Christians everywhere to be reminded where our hopes rests.

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

2) While we are not afraid of the virus, we want to do our part to help mitigate the impact and spread. If we can do things to help protect those who are most vulnerable, we will do that.

With input from denominational leaders, and local health professionals, and with much prayer, we have made the decision to move our in-person worship services to online .  We will continue to evaluate the situation and assess how we can best do ministry in this season. Any ministries during the week will also be postponed.

We will be live streaming at 10am on Sundays (

I want to reiterate, this decision is not being made out of fear. Our desire is to serve our families, community, and world by practicing some social distancing.

Also, while we are practicing social distancing, we are not practicing spiritual distancing. It’s critical that we stay connected. It’s critical that we continue to reach out and support each other. It’s critical that we continue to live out our faith so we can help each other in times of need. It’s more important than that the church be the church.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6–7

3) As in all situations, and especially ones like this, these are great opportunities for the church to be the church. God is not surprised or shaken by the season we find ourselves in. Often, it is exactly in seasons like this where God does His greatest work. Be in prayer for our leaders, be in prayer for our church, be in prayer for each other. Let’s rise to the challenge and move forward in faith as we see all that God does!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

If you have any needs or prayer requests, please let us know ( Join us online Sunday, 10am as we lean into God together. God is good!
